When the SGS site won't load after the initial installation, it's caused by the game feed from our server not being retrieved by the requesting server in time. This causes the requesting server to give up on the request and show an error. There are a few options that can be used to fix this.
First, you can adjust the default "fetch" time within the SGS script. This will allow additional time for your server to communicate with the Big Fish server to feed the site. To adjust the fetch time, follow these steps:
- Locate the site_fetch.class.php file (SGS > _Include > site_fetch.class.php) in your file hosting program.
- Right click the file and choose View/Edit
- Locate the following script:
- Adjust the script to show the fetch timeout as 60 rather than 15. The resulting script should look like this:
- Save Changes.
If this doesn't help, try changing the fetch time to 120 and try loading the site again.
If you still run into issues with your SGS site loading after adjusting your fetch time, it could be caused by the hosting provider used for your site. For these instances, we recommend contacting your hosting provider directly for additional support.
